New tourism initiative to promote Mulroy Drive agreed

Building upon recognition and investment from Failte Ireland in the Mulroy Drive tourism route, the Mulroy Drive Tourist and Development Group have now agreed an action plan to promote the route, and attract more tourists to the area, including a new website and a promotional magazine, full of local information about events, things to see and do, as well as local history and stories from the area.

The Mulroy Drive Tourist and Development Group have consulted with local company, Inish Media, to deliver the project, and it is anticipated that the project will be completed in time for the new tourism season, launching at the beginning of March 2023.

Paddy Logue, Chair of the Mulroy Drive group, has said that the group are excited by the potential of the project for the area. "We are taking the development of the Mulroy Drive project to the next level, having already secured the support of Failte Ireland in getting the project off the ground, and having the route promoted internationally through the Failte Ireland website."

"Ultimately, phase one is now complete, and we are expanding on our plans for the route, which we hope will extend the tourism season locally by providing much more accessible information to our visitors, and supporting local traders with a resource that will help them improve their service to tourists who visit the area."

"We strongly believe that the Mulroy Drive has so much to offer our visitors, and by investing further in the route, we can make the Mulroy area a fantastic base for tourists exploring the wider Wild Atlantic Way, while also providing a better source of what is happening in the area to our regular visitors and locals alike."

Mr Logue advised that local businesses can get in touch with Inish Media to find out more by emailing info@inishmedia.com, and that the company will shortly be contacting providers in the area with information on how they can participate in the project.
